An elegant, perfumed expression of the Yarra Valley, this wine is well structured, full of juicy red fruit and violet characters, superbly balanced with smooth tannins.
Pinot Noir
Single Variety
Yarra Valley
At release, the wine has a deep rose colour to the centre with a vibrant garnet hue to the edges.
There is a delicate perfume of red cherry and raspberry with underlying delicate spice.
This is a light to medium-bodied wine with a supple yet generously flavoured palate. On the palate, there is vibrant red fruit flavours with hints of tart raspberry and lithe tannins. The finish is long, graceful and wonderfully persistent.
In the Yarra Valley, a cold and dry winter finally gave way to a dry, mild spring which slightly delayed budburst. The dry weather then broke beautifully in late November with some much needed rainfall. A bit more in December meant that the canopies were full and healthy when January arrived, bringing periods of extreme heat which continued into February and kept growers on their toes. The remainder of the vintage continued with perfect ripening weather, no rain and no disease pressure. Whilst history might not mark 2018 as one of the best vintages, overall, the wine quality still looked to be above average.
Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.
