  • Jaraman Riesling 201390./100

    Stuart Robinson, TheVinsomniac, October 2013

Somewhat closed initially, hints of celeriac/fennel, a more 'woody' aromatic profile. Opens up touches of bickfords lime present themselves, with time crushed candies. Day two sees pithy lemon, white florals, even a hint of stonefruit. The palate shows lime, more than lemon, touch of marmalade - not oxidised - a little phenolic pinch. Day two sees the wine exhibit greater intensity, grapefruit acidity with mineral. The length is OK, not outstanding, but it more than stands up.

    Jaraman Riesling 2013

Des Houghton, Courier Mail, November 2013

    Quaff
The 2013 Jaraman riesling ($24.50) is a fusion of fruit sourced from two distinct wine regions, the Clare and Eden valleys. Artful blending ensures the result is a multidimensional single varietal wine with lots of tight acid and citrus flavours combining with restrained mineral acidity and fragrant floral aromas of the Eden Valley fruit.

  • Jaraman Riesling 2013

Dan Berger, Vintages Experiences Newsletter, May 2014

Some Americans may not want a totally dry yet still succulent Riesling in the classic Aussie style. This wine has a trace of minerality along with some TDN notes, a honeysuckle aroma with a bit of lime and green tea (!) and a sensational angularity that would make it wonderful with sauteed trout almandine. Note: the wine is a parallel brand of Wakefield. Unanimous gold medal at RIWC.

Ronn Weigand, Restaurant Wine Magazine, May 2014

Screw cap. Supple and medium bodied, this is a crisp, dry Riesling with firm acidity and a very long finish. In aroma/flavor, it is reminiscen of honeysuckle, lime, pineapple, and pine resin. Will develop with additional aging. [2016-2018]

    Jaraman Riesling 201389/100

    Josh Raynolds, Vinous, March 2016

    Australia Rediscovers its Mojo
(this wine has a pH of 2.93, with just under three grams per liter of residual sugar): Light, green-tinged gold. High-pitched citrus zest, quince and quinine scents pick up a suave floral nuance with aeration. Juicy, dry and sharply focused, offering Meyer lemon and underripe pear flavors plus hints of fennel and ginger. Shows good tension and nerve, finishing with solid thrust and subtle herbal and floral nuances.
